India Successfully Tests Indigenous Long-Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM)

India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has achieved another major milestone in strengthening the country's defense capabilities. On June 15, 2026, a successful flight test of the Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM) was conducted from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha.

According to data collected by various tracking systems deployed by the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, all mission objectives were successfully achieved. However, DRDO has not yet officially disclosed the missile's maximum operational range.

The successful test further strengthens India's defense infrastructure and reflects the nation's continued progress toward the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). It also serves as a testament to India's growing technological and military capabilities.

The LRLACM (Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile) is a completely indigenous missile developed by DRDO without relying on foreign assistance. All of its critical subsystems and components have been designed and developed by various DRDO laboratories in collaboration with Indian industry partners.

Over the past few months, India has made significant advancements in missile defense systems, strategic deterrence, long-range strike capabilities, anti-ship warfare technologies, hypersonic propulsion, precision-guided weapons, and next-generation armored platforms.

The Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bengaluru, serves as the nodal laboratory for the LRLACM project, playing a key role in the missile's development and integration.

The successful flight test marks another important step in India's journey toward becoming a technologically advanced and self-reliant defense power.
